SS-31 (Szeto-Schiller 31, also known as Elamipretide) is a mitochondria-targeted tetrapeptide with the sequence D-Arg-Dmt-Lys-Phe-NH₂ (where Dmt = 2′,6′-dimethyl-L-tyrosine), engineered to selectively bind cardiolipin on the inner mitochondrial membrane.
